Assessment of Private Health Sector Engagement in Timor-Leste

The private health sector in Timor-Leste is a crucial element of the health care system, complementing government services to ensure that all citizens have equitable access to quality and timely information and care. Given the expanding importance and role of the private health sector, the USAID Health System Sustainability Activity (the Activity) supported the Ministry of Health (MOH) in assessing gaps associated with its policies and legal frameworks governing how it engages this sector and developed recommendations to enhance cohesion and complementarity between services delivered by the private, public and civil society health sectors.
