A new monitoring and evaluation platform provides a unified system for multiple social protection programs to connect eligible clients with available services, assess performance identify gaps, and plan improvements based on clear evidence.

As part of the Mentor Hospital strategy, Dr. Aura María Salazar, a pediatrician, trained doctors at Valle del Lili and other hospitals on newborn and childbirth skills, such as neonatal resuscitation and the safe transfer of newborns.

Namibia has made great progress in its long journey to end HIV as a public health threat. USAID and PEPFAR are helping Namibia achieve and maintain epidemic control, in part, by supporting the government in strengthening its health systems that support the HIV response. 

With support from LHSS, Namibia’s Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises conducted a workshop to train stakeholders on the PEFA assessment methodology, setting the stage for improved public financial management. This assessment will guide policy reforms, enhance sustainable financing, and develop strategies to boost efficiency and accountability in health sector spending.

In Madagascar, community-based health insurance programs, known as mutuelles, are helping make health care more affordable for vulnerable populations. Through regular contributions, community members build a shared pool to cover health service costs when needed. Since 2023, LHSS has been supporting the Malagasy government in piloting this approach.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services in Namibia, with support from LHSS, held a 3-day workshop to equip the media with skills for accurate, sensitive reporting on UHC. The training covered UHC's importance, health emergency reporting, and data interpretation.

This course is an interactive, five module online self-study course; each module allows participants to engage with the materials and reflect on their own country’s context.
